Challenge #31. Rough it up!!

This week, our hostess for the challenge is Krista and she wants us to 'rough it up' on our cards, distress on them or whatever you think it means to rough it up!! I don't do much distressing on my cards, but it's mostly because I'm too lazy and the fact that I don't like making a mess. Ask my daughter!! In fact, I made this card yesterday while staying at her house and I even went outside in the heat and distressed my pieces of paper because I don't like all that stuff going on the floor and on me.

Anyway, for this one, I used Henri from the Tea Party release. I think he's so dapper and cute and I always need masculine cards. As usual when I'm at Kim's, I scrounged some of her D.P. and I don't know what it's called. I love the shades in it though and I was able to put Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant together. I really like the combination. I coloured Henri with my Copics as always, put him on some of both the colours, then I distressed some of the D.P., placed the striped one on some distressed Crushed Curry, then put it on a card base of Elegant Eggplant. I put a strip of the flowery paper down the left side, added some polka dot ribbon and then put the sentiment on another piece of the matching paper.

If you use your Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, you will be entered to win the Perfect Poison stamp, which is the one Krista used on her fabulous card. Go to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog to link up your creations and don't forget that if you put your cards on somewhere like Splitcoast, use KKSC31 in your keywords, so we can easily find you.

So have fun distressing (your cards, not you) and we can all check them out.

May you have a blessed weekend,

Diana

Maxwell's a Charmer! Challenge #30

Well, Happy Saturday everyone! I truly hope it's a great one for you and that you are getting to spend it doing something you like.

The Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge this week is to use a charm on your card. I think I have only ever once used a charm on my card before, but fortunately I did pick up a few this week. Since one of them is a toadstool, I knew right away I wanted to use Maxwell leaning against his cute fat little toadstool, toasting his marshmallow. It's been quite a while since I have used him, so I was happy to have an excuse to colour him again.

I did so with my Copics, then matted him onto some Pumpkin Pie. I used some yummy papers that my darling daughter shared with me, but I don't know what they're called. She got to keep the front with the name on it. I guess that is only fair. I cut out a piece of the DP with the circles and matted it on Barely Banana, then tied some Chocolate GG Ribbon around it, then tied my charm on with some linen thread. I used my Nestie Double Ended Tags for the sentiment, put some brown brads on the ends and set it on an angle at the bottom. I used some brown half pearls at the top right, then put it all on a Pumpkin Pie card base. That was fun!!

Now how about you? We want to see what you will come up with. Link your creations up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog and you could be the random winner of the Eleanor stamp from the latest release. Tara is our terrifically talented hostess this week and that's the image she used. Check her card out, it's wonderful. Actually all of the Krafty Girls cards this week are fabulous. Our team rocks!!

Have fun and I want to check out your cards this week!

Blessings,
Diana

Dexter the Kraftin' Kimmie Dragon!

Hi, I'm actually posting in the middle of the week. I had coloured up Dexter, the Kraftin' Kimmie Dragon a while ago, but hadn't got around to making him into a card. Well, I finally finished him, so here he is. I think he's cute and I like any stamps that are kind of masculine as I never have enough guy cards.
Dexter is actually from the April Release, so I am rather late in using him, but better late than never, right?

I coloured him in with my Copics and used the largest of my Labels 10 to cut him out. I sponged around him with Wheat. I used some of my Stampin' Up DP, but now I can't find where I got it from, so I don't know what the name of it is!! I matted the centre strip on some Always Artichoke and used my drippy goo border punch on it. Unfortunately not much of it is left showing. I used the accompanying Sentiment, 'You Slay Me' and punched it out with a part of one of my EK Success Punches. I added a few silk leaves and a button, then put some green gems on the ends of the image layer. I pop dotted Dexter and there you have it

I hope you all have a great day, I'm going to be working on some images for the June Release. You're gonna love 'em.

Blessings,
Diana

New Release Day!!! Vintage Bathing Babes (and Dude) and Perfect Poison!! Oh, and Krafty Blog Hop too!!

Well, it's finally Sunday and time for the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Release. We have had such fun playing with these images, they are a dream to colour and create with. All of this months' images were created by the fantastic Annie Rodrigue. We're all so happy that she is one of Kimmie's artists.

I used Eleanor for this card, isn't she just so cute and acts like she doesn't even know it!! I did my Copic thing as usual, then cut her out using my Labels Nesties. I sponged around her, then cut a larger frame using Orchid Opulence. I used some papers from Kimmie's stash, then used one of her border punches to make a strip between the two papers using Baja Breeze. I then put some Rose Red ribbon across it. I added some cute buttons and put the sentiment 'Have a Sunny Day' from the new Beach Sentiments set, which is also released today.

Now to the Krafty Hop. If you have landed here from Donna's Blog, you are where you are supposed to be. If not, you might want to go back to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, so that you don't miss any of us. Be sure to leave a comment at every stop, as every time you do, it gives you another chance to win some of the New Release stamps. From here, you go the Blog of our wonderfully talented Melanie.

When you are finished, make sure you head on over to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to find all the new stamps. Also, everyone who orders stamps today, May 16th., and tomorrow, May 17th., will be eligible to win a 5 x 7 print, featuring Annie's original painting, Perfect Poison. I've seen one of them and it's gorgeous.

So Happy Hopping, ladies, hope you have fun,

No Card Today!! No, really! Challenge #29 and Preview #3

Well, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend ladies! I have just spent the last few days with my dear daughter, Kraftin' Kimmie herself. We spent time cutting and packaging stamps and also creating together, our Copics sitting on the table side by side. It was great fun. Well, I'm not sure Kimmie thinks so because I don't know where her stuff is and since I was scrounging from her, she kept having to run upstairs and find what I wanted. I did try to go up and get things myself a few times, but often couldn't find them. (She does have a lot of stuff!!!) We did get lots of exercise though.

Anyway, to get to the challenge. As the title suggests, we were asked to make anything but a card! Let me tell ya, I almost choked on this one as I am not very creative and I very rarely make anything but a card. However, Kimmie had some oval coasters, so I decided to run with that and make a gift tag or something. Once I started to make it, it dawned on me that I could put it on a bottle of sunscreen and make that the gift. Then, I have to confess that it was smartypants Kimmie who said "You could use the 'Pass the Sunscreen' sentiment on it. Darn it, I wish I could say I had thought of it first!!! Anyway, I was happy with it. It was perfect! The sentiment, I mean.

So your mission, if you decide to accept it, is to make anything but a card with your Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Our hostess this week is the super talented Elaine, and I believe that the image she is using from the New Release is Florence, so if you are the randomly chosen winner, you will win that stamp. Hope you have fun creating, maybe you can show us something that I can umm... borrow!!

Anyway, for my little tag, I used sweet and sassy Mae, don't you just love her sun hat. I coloured her with my Copics and I put a bit of texture on her hat by dotting it all over with a couple of shades darker than the base. I paper pieced her dress and I sponged some clouds around her and sponged in some sand as well. The sentiment is from the new Beach Sentiments Set, which will also debut tomorrow along with all the other images you are seeing in the previews. I put an eyelet at the top and threaded some yummy red ribbon through it.

Make sure you come back tomorrow for our Krafty Hop, when you will see more creations with the images and if you leave comments on our blogs, you will have the opportunity to win some Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Candy from the new release no less!

Oh, and also make sure you visit all the blogs of the other Krafty Girls and see what they came up with for this week's challenge.

'See' you tomorrow for our Krafty Hop.

Krafty Peeks....Day Two!!

Happy Friday!! So you're back for another Krafty Peek at the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, huh?? Well today I have sassy girl Florence to share with you!!

I stamped her on Neenah cardstock using Memento ink and coloured her with my Copics. The card base is Real Red with Brilliant Blue for matting. The papers I used are some fabulous sparkly Citrus papers from a DCWV Stack. I've been using stuff from Kimmie's stash since I've been staying up here for a few days, helping her cut and package stamps! We've had a lot of fun stamping and colouring together too!

I came up with the layout myself, added some red grosgrain ribbon, pop dotted the main layer and added some yummy Prima flowers. The final touch is the 'Summer Smiles' sentiment that is from the new Beach Sentiments set that will be available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, along with all the new images on Sunday!!

All the Krafty Girls have more lovely samples for you to see today, so be sure to head over to the Challenge Blog, where you'll find all the links!

Have a great day!!

I used Pumpkin Pie for the base of this card and some lovely glittery DCWV Citrus cardstock for the background. I coloured Jack with my Copics, cut him out with some Nesties, sponged around him and pop dotted him onto the patterned paper. I put orange brads in the two left corners, then added the 'A Warm Hello' sentiment, which is from a new Beachy Sentiments set that goes perfectly with this release!!

Neapolitan Ice Cream? Challenge 28!

Well, hi again all you stampers out there! I'ts time for another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week our hostess with the mostest is the Vivacious Miss Vicki!! Vicki is challenging us this week to make a card using the colours of Neapolitan Ice Cream. So chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, right? A delicious ice cream and a yummy colour combo to use for your card. I mean, who doesn't love pink and brown?! Oh and since Vicki used the lovely Josephine on her card, that is the stamp you will be in the running to win. Just use your Kraftin' Kimmie stamp on this card and you may be randomly picked to receive Josephine along with her little potion bottle accessory stamp.

For my card, I used You Make Me Happy, a Cindy and Mindy stamp created by the very talented Jean Grant. I love her creations, my very favourite is Bench Friends. O.K., enough of my babbling, back to the card. I used a Stampin' Up DP, but I've had it so long, I can't remember the name of it. I love paisley and I love pink and brown, so this worked perfectly. I used Close to Cocoa for the card base, matted the paisley piece onto it, then I used two other designs of the same pack for the horizontal and the vertical strips. I matted the upright strip on Close to Cocoa and I put a border on the brown strip, using a Pretty in Pink border punched strip. I coloured Cindy and Mindy with my copics, punched out the image with my Labels 4 Nesties and used the smallest Nestie of that set for the sentiment, also on Pretty in Pink. I used Pretty in Pink GG Ribbon and some pink and brown Prima Flowers to finish it off. The sentiment, Smooches, is from the Kraftin' Kimmie set, Everyday Sentiments.

That's it, now it's your turn. I can't wait to see what lovely pink, brown and white (or vanilla) designs you are going to have to show us. If you put your card on a website like Splitcoast, don't forget to put KKSC28 in your keywords, so we can find it.

Don't forget to start checking back next Thursday to start seeing some previews of the new release stamps for May, going on sale at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps next Sunday, the 16th. I promise you won't be disappointed, these images just keep getting better and better.

Have a great weekend,
Blessings,
Diana

Challenge #27 A Sketch!

Well, Hi to all of you ladies out there! I hope you've had a good week. It hasn't been the best week for our family as our darling daughter Kraftin' Kimmie has been really sick. I went up to spend a few days with her last Friday, just to hang out with her, Al and our sweet Emileigh and to help her with some rubber. When I arrived there in the morning, Kim was feeling just awful and kept getting worse. Al took her to the hospital and it was suspected that she had diverticulitis. She was quite ill all week, but I'm thankful to say is much better now and it isn't diverticulitis. We aren't sure yet quite what it is as we are waiting for some test results and some more tests, I'm just glad she is feeling better.

Needless to say, I am quite behind with everything and making cards was not on my mind during this time. However, I did get one made yesterday for this week's challenge, which is to use this great sketch from our super talented Jeanne. You can find the actual sketch at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, but what you see on my card is basically it. I used Bench Friends because I love that stamp, it's so sweet. I used TPC Studio Bugs and Butterflies patterned papers. I cut out circles with my nesties and put a pinked circle in between the two sizes using Rose Red cardstock. I put a couple of flowers on the top circle, then put the circles on another piece of the patterned paper, matted that onto YoYo Yellow, which I put on a card base of Rose Red. I coloured Cindy and Mindy in, matted the image onto Rose Red, put a flower on the corner of that and pop dotted it onto the card. I punched out the sentiment 'Friends Make Life Bearable' and set it in the top right corner.

Now let's see your creations using this sketch. Use your Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and if your card is randomly picked, you will win Queen Guinevere as that's the stamp Jeanne used. Check out Jeanne's card as it's just awesome! I wanna be her when I grow up!!

I also want to mention that Kraftin' Kimmie is having a sale for the whole weekend on her website. She has stamps on sale for 25-50% off. Now that's a deal and who doesn't love a deal. I know I do!!

I hope you have a blessed weekend and that you find a few minutes to stamp.
