Reduce, re-use, recycle!! Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 63!

Good Saturday, all you stampers and bloggers! Today is the beginning of this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. This week, our hostess is the uber talented Melanie and she would like us to put something on our cards, which is being recycled. You can use whatever you like, something from around the house, anything you like. You will see when you look at all the other Krafty Girl's blogs, what they have used. They are all so creative, I'm not so clever. I took some lace from the hem of a slip and used it on my card.

I used Gift Emmylou as my image, coloured her up and then used my Mega Ovals to cut her out and Mega Scalloped Ovals Nesties in Gable Green to frame her. This stamp is perfect for that as it's long and narrow. I used a card base of Daffodil Delight, matted some light turquoise on it and some DP onto that. I put my strip of lace across the front and then used some mauve GG Ribbon on that. I added some Prima Caboodles in the top right corner and stamped 'It's Your Day' on a piece of Daffodil Delight, which was punched out with the tiniest of the Scalloped Oval Nesties.

That's it for today, I hope you all have a great one,

Blessings,
Diana

Stripes the Zebra Baby Card!

Hello to everyone out there! I hope your Wednesday is a good one. It's pretty good here for the moment. It's not snowing and the temp. is supposed to get to -2C. That's going to feel great after it being -17C a couple of days ago. I am so ready for spring as I know a lot of us Canadians and Americans are, but we're not even halfway through yet.

Anyway, enough of my babble, now to my card. This is Stripes from the January release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I was really scared of this one as my colouring leaves a lot to be desired, but I think it's bloggable. Stripes is one of Crissy Armstrong's creations. I just love her work and especially her animals, which are always so full of character.

I used my new Lacy Square Nesties, which I am having so much fun with. I used some really lovely So So Sweet papers by Paper Studio. I opted for the butterflies because of the one on Stripes' nose. I found some neat trim in my stash (from Dollar Giant) and glued it down one side. I used the sentiment 'Happy New Baby', which comes with Kraftin' Kimmie's 'Buggy Full O' Ducks'. I added a couple of flowers and leaves in the corner and there you go. Now I have a card ready for the next baby girl to come along.

Take care and may God Bless you greatly,

Diana

Challenge 62! Princes, Princesses, Frogs, Oh My!!

Oh my goodness, where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday I was posting last week's Challenge! Yet, the winter seems to be going on forever and we're not even halfway through it!! I don't know about anyone else, but I am really fed up with all this cold weather. It was -18C here last night, which for us is extremely cold!! I really would like to go somewhere warm at this point.

Well, once again, I've had my whining session, so now to the card. This week, our hostess with the mostest is our amazingly talented Tara, who has her own definite style, which I love. Tara wants us all to use Fairy Tale images this week and Kraftin' Kimmie does have quite a few to choose from. I chose Princess Petunia as I think I only ever got her inked up once before, so it's high time I used her again. I also used the little frog which comes with Lillith. I also used the sentiment, which comes with Prince Charming from the Dec. 2010 Release. It actually says 'To My Prince!' but I just inked up 'My Prince' as I thought it was better for this card.

I coloured Princess Petunia with my Copics, then cut her out with one of my Nesties Labels. While still in the frame, I glued the frog on, which I had of course first cut out. I used some peach chalk ink around the image. I can't tell you what papers I used as Kimmie and I often buy a pack and split it, but I guess I didn't get the front page with this one, so I haven't a clue! I stitched around all the layers, put some yummy stretchy ribbon across the front, then added some orange, peach and green flowers. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the green dp. and set it on the side of the image.

Be sure and visit the blogs of all the other Krafty Girls and see the great cards they have made.

So now, your mission, should you choose to accept it (he he), is to make a card using a Fairy Tale image. Don't forget, one randomly chosen winner will receive the Snow White stamp as that's the one Tara has used on her gorgeous card. Happy stamping everyone!!

Blessings,
Diana

Olivia Orange!

Good day all you stampers out there, I have another card to post using one of the January Release of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. This is Olivia and I had fun colouring her. I used some Kaiser Craft 'Tea at Elsie's' patterned papers along with some Groovy Guava and Night of Navy cardstock. I love those colours together. I coloured Olivia and punched her out using one of my Labels Nesties. I used some peach chalk ink around the edges before taking the image out of the die. I added some matching Primas and some Certainly Celery taffeta ribbon.

If you want to see more of Kraftin' Kimmies January Release, including several more of these 'fruity girls', you will find them here.

Now back to working on a card for this coming Saturday's Challenge, it's a good one!

Have a wonderful day,
Diana

Monday evening!! It's a jungle out there!!

Good evening all, I actually did start this post with 'Good Morning', but something came up before I got past the first two words and now it's evening. Life has a way of doing that, doesn't it?

Anyway, I did say I'd be back with some more of the Kraftin' Kimmie's New Release Stamps, so here I am. The card I am posting today is one of the Crissy's Cuties Collection and they are the last ones Crissy drew for us before she moved on. I just love all her images and I especially love the cute animals she creates. This one is called 'Cheeky Monkey' and I think he is just adorable. And if you think he's cute, you should check out Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamp Shop and see the other ones she made for this release. She has done gorgeous piggies, froggies, a bulldog and a fabulous baby zebra. Since Kimmie released 16 images this month, I have not had time to play with the others yet, but I know they will be great fun to colour!!

Well, back to the card. This one was pretty simple as I found this patterned paper in my Paper Studio Day at the Beach pack. I thought it was perfect and didn't need a whole lot of covering up with embellishments. I coloured the monkey using my Copics, punched it out using my Square Nesties, matted it onto Kiwi Kiss, then onto black. I pop dotted the layers onto the DP, which I matted onto Pumpkin Pie, then onto a card base of black. I just added the sentiment 'It's a Jungle out there, cut out with my small tag punch, then glued it to a black tag made with my large tag punch. I put a black eyelet in the top, then thread it through some black cord and that's all.

I will be back with another of the new images tomorrow, I hope. Unless life gets in the way again!! Have a great evening,

Blessings,
Diana

Whoopee!! It's January Release Day today and it's a big one!!

Today Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is releasing their new JANUARY images! We’re kicking 2011 off with a bang as we have SIXTEEN new stamps for you!! As you’ve seen over the last few days in our Krafty Peeks, Annie Rodrigue has created some incredibly sweet BERRY GIRLS!! There are six images in the complete set and they are Abigail Apple, Andrea Acorn, Lily Lemon, Olivia Orange, Rebecca Raspberry and Stella Strawberry! Each one comes with a coordinating accessory stamp AND a bonus sentiment stamp!!

We ALL have baby cards to make every year and this month, Steven Leary has brought us the most adorable BABY images!! There are babies, teddy bears, ducks and a pair of little mice you might know! They are Baby Bubble Bath, Special Delivery, Tiny Miles and Maisie, Buggy Full ‘O Ducks and Teddy Bear Trio!! Two of them also come with matching sentiment stamps!!

Also this month we are excited to be sharing the last five stamps from our past artist, Crissy Armstrong! These stamps are just full of cuddly cuteness! Check out these adorable ANIMALS!! They are Buster the Bulldog, the Froggie Family, Cheeky Monkey, Stripes the Zebra and Tickled Pink Piggies! And each one comes with a coordinating sentiment stamp also!!

We are thrilled to have ALL THREE of our amazing artists joining in the hop today!! If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge Blog! As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of stamps from the new release!! And when you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!

Again we’ve got ‘Gimme Kimmie’s Kits’ for those of you who just HAVE to have all the new images! We’ve grouped each line of stamps together and called them the ‘Gimme Kimmies Kits’!!! Instead of clicking on each image that you’d like, you only have to click once to pick up a Gimme Kimmies Kit AND it’s at a discounted price!! What could be better???

Well, that's all the important stuff covered. As you can imaging, we Krafty Girls have been having a ball playing with all these new images. I haven't played with them all yet, but I'm getting there, I can't leave them alone. I have a couple more cards that I will post later this week.

For my card, I used 'Buggy Full o' Ducks. This is one of Steven Leary's fun images, I love playing with his stamps as you can just make a small card if you want, or you can dress it up and make a 6 x 6 if you want to.

I think this image is so cute, Mama Duck with all her baby ducks in a buggy. You could use this for a baby card or a 'just because' card. I coloured the image on Neenah White cardstock, cut it out with my rectangular nesties, then used the coordinating Scalloped Rectangular Nesties to cut out in Wild Wasabi, which is the colour used for the card base. I used Nana's Nursery Baby Girl papers in the background. The pink piece is matted onto Lavender Lace and the main piece is matted onto Marigold Morning. I added some Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon and some Primas attached with a couple of brads and that's it.

Now if you have landed here from the blog of our fabulous Guest Designer Jessica, you are in the right place. From here you go to the blog of our very talented Michele. Don't forget to leave a comment at each stop along the way for a chance to win some NEW Blog Candy. Have fun,

See you again soon,

Diana

Sneaky Peek Day 3. Annie's Images!! Challenge Day too!!

Good day all you stampers out there, I hope you're having a good weekend so far. I have to say that I'm having a better day today. I spent the last 2 days with a horrible headache!! Not fun, I have to say as it totally incapacitates me. Anyway, I'm just grateful that it's gone and I hope not to have another one that bad for a long time!!

Okay, now that I've done my whining, back to the reason I'm on here. As the title says, it's day 3 of the the Kraftin' Kimmie Sneaky Peeks. Today we are all showcasing the wonderful artistry of Annie Rodrigue. Her style is so unique and I love it. My card is made using Rebecca Raspberry and I had so much fun colouring her. I used two of the designs of my Raspberry Tart D.P., it's perfect for this image. The green layer is matted onto Rose Red cardstock, the main layer of D.P. is matted onto Regal Rose and that layer is matted onto the card base of Old Olive.
I stamped the sentiment, 'Wishing You A Berry Nice Day' (which actually comes with Stella Strawberry) onto some Old Olive and punched it out with my E.K. Success Punch, not sure what it's called. The sentiment that actually comes with Rebecca Raspberry is 'Thank You Berry Much'. Then I cut the piece off with the sentiment on and glued it under the main layer. I added some Rose GG Ribbon and a few Prima Hydrangeas.

Now, I almost forgot to mention that our hostess this week is the fabulous Angie, who is a new permanent addition to our team. We are so happy to have her and we love her work!! Anyway, the challenge this week is Fancy Florals. Angie wants us all to use flowers of any kind on our cards. It can be in your papers, in your image or decorative flowers, whatever you like. Remember, if you enter, you will have a chance to win one of the stamps Angie has used this week, she is using Stella Strawberry and Rebecca Raspberry. Make sure you link your card up to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog and if you post your cards on a site like Splitcoast, be sure to put KKSC61, so we can find your cards on there.

Okay, so this is the last day for Krafty Peeks, tomorrow will be the January Release and also our Krafty Blog Hop. Make sure you come back to get a chance to win some blog candy. Also, let's see what creations you are going to make using Fancy Florals.

See you tomorrow,

Blessings,
Diana

Day 2 of January Krafty Peeks!!

Well, it's day 2 of the Sneaky Peeks for Kraftin' Kimmie's January Release. Today we are showcasing Steven Leary's images. They are all so cute!!

For my first card, I used Baby Bubble Bath. I found some Lime Rickey papers that I thought would work because of the ducky in the image. I'm not sure if any of the birds on the paper are ducks, but let's pretend anyway. For my card base, I used Wild Wasabi. I layered an orange piece of the Lime Ricky to mat my birdie layer on, put another design from the same papers down the right side, matting it onto some Pumpkin Pie cardstock. For my image, I used my Copics and I put some Stardust Stickles on the bubbles, which you probably can't see in the picture. I matted the image onto some Daffodil Delight cardstock, then popped it up. The sentiment is one from Kraftin' Kimmie's Mermaid Sentiments. I used the Daffodil Delight for it and backed it onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie punched out with my Oval Punch. Again, you can't see it, but I coated some half pearls with Stardust Stickles to match the bubbles.

For my second card, I used Special Delivery, another of Steven's new release images. This is perfect as I need a card for the upcoming arrival of a baby boy. I coloured the image with my faithful Copics, cut it out using one of my Labels Nesties and used some Nana's Nursery Baby Boy papers to mat it onto using the next larger size of Nesties. I popped it up on some more of the N. Nursery papers, then matted it onto some Morning Marigold cardstock, which was glued onto a card base of Baja Breeze. I added the sentiment 'Happy New Baby', which comes with another of the new Steven Leary images. I stamped it on a blue piece of the N. Nursery papers, added 3 pale green button brads, then tied some Baja Breeze ribbon vertically next to the buttons.

Well, that's me for today. Tomorrow I'll be back along with the rest of the Krafty Girls to show you some of Annie's gorgeous designs. They are all so beautiful and great fun to colour. Then on Sunday, we hope you will all check in to see the last lot of cards and also to take part in our fun Krafty Hop. Some lucky ladies will win some of the new release of stamps. That can't be bad, can it?

Happy New Year and Challenge 60!

Wow, it seems like forever since I've been on here, but I expect most of you gals have taken some time off during this busy time of year.

I've only just realized that I used Willard on my last post!! I have been working on some Sneaky Peeks for the run up to next week's January release, so I forgot which one was which. Anyway, obviously I love Willard, that's why I used him again.

This week's Krafty Challenge is from our fabulous Michele and she would like us to make our cards using no ribbon, string, trim, lace or fibres of any kind. I thought it would be difficult as I love my ribbons etc., but I survived and I'm fairly happy with the results. I used Cosmo Cricket's Mini Deck as my patterned papers and my card base is rose red, as is the strip across the middle, The other cardstocks are Baja Breeze and Old Olive. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments. I added some Prima flowers with some little red roses in the centres. I also added some tiny pink heart brads at the top right.

Now let's see what you krafty girls can do, I can't wait to see them. Don't forget if you link your cards up to a website like Splitcoast, put KKSC60 in your keywords so we can find them.

Well, back to working on the sneaky peeks for next week's release, which you are going to love.

Blessings everyone,

Diana
