Scoopy Scallops! Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #67!

Well, hello again to all you crafty peeps! I hope you've had a good week. We are still getting snow here in South Western Ontario and like most everyone I know, we have had more than enough! Oh, please come on spring!!

So today I am using a spring theme, telling myself I will soon be able to send someone this card!! The challenge for this week at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, is Scoopy Scallops and our hostess is the very talented Michele. We can use scallops anywhere on our cards, so that's easy, right? For my image, I used the very cute and adorable Springtime Maisie. She looks like she's having fun picking some spring flowers. Oh, I can't wait! I cut her out using a square Nestie, then made a frame using my Lacy Squares Nestie. I used some pretty Making Memories Flower Patch patterned papers and the sentiment 'The Joys of Spring', which is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Fairy Sentiments. The cardstock colours are Garden Green, Blushing Bride and Barely Banana, which is now retired from Stampin' Up. I don't know what I'll do when I run out, I use it a

Well, there's our challenge folks, now let's see your creations! The stamp Michele is using on her card is Judy, so the randomly picked winner will win that stamp.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Blessings,

Diana

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring Cute Card Thursday!

Well, hi to everyone out there! As the title says, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring Cute Card Thursday, so some of us Krafty Girls used their sketch and made cards.

For my card I used Betty from the Glamour Girls release. She was a perfect fit for the circle needed for this sketch. I stamped her on Neenah white cardstock, coloured her with my Copics, then cut her out using one of my circle Nesties.

I then sponged around her using pink chalk ink while she was still in the die. I used my Scalloped Circle Nesties for the frame and I used the new Early Espresso cardstock from S.U. My DP is Sweet Always, again from S.U. I matted that onto some Regal Rose cardstock and the card base is Pumpkin Pie. I used some orange taffeta ribbon across the front, put some Prima Flowers in the upper left corner, using pink heart brads for the centres. I stamped 'Hey Hot Stuff' from Kimmie's Beachy Sentiments on some Regal Rose and punched it out using my Modern Labels Punch.

That's it, hope you are having a wonderful day.

Blessings,

Diana

Hoppy Birthday and Challenge #66!

Good Saturday morning campers, I mean stampers! I hope you are having a great weekend, but for those who aren't, you are in my prayers!!

Our hostess for this week is the wonderful Elaine, our pal from over the pond. In fact she lives not too far from where I was born and raised. I love Elaine's style, it is very much her own and she uses a lot of sewing, which is always beautiful. Anyway, Elaine has given us a sketch to use this week. You will find it over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, which is also where you will find the fabulous creations of all the other Krafty Girls. Since Elaine is using one of the new Krafty Quotes stamps, whoever wins the random drawing for their creation, will get ALL 4 of the new Krafty Quote set of stamps. Bonus!!

For my card, I used The Froggie Family from the January Release. I haven't inked this one up before as I'm always chicken to colour the animal ones, but I really had fun with it and I'm not too displeased. Mind you, please don't compare it with the Froggies done by the other Krafty Girls. Theirs are fabulous.

Anyway, I used the sketch and the frogs were the perfect shape to go in a circle Nestie for the required circle. I matted the image layer onto some retired Buckaroo Blue S.U. cardstock, which I almost forgot I had, but it was the perfect shade to work with my Making Memories 'Chloe's Closet' patterned papers, which I love. I used my Inverted Scalloped Circles for this frame. The card base is also Buckaroo Blue and the patterned papers are matted onto some yummy Peach Parfait S.U. papers. I stamped Hoppy Birthday on a tag of the P. Parfait and put 3 blue 'gems' on the upper left corner piece of paper.

I think that's it, so now it's your turn to used Elaine's lovely sketch and show us your creations. Don't forget that the winner will get all 4 of the Krafty Quotes. Be sure to check out all the other Krafty Girls cards, which you can get to from Kimmie's Challenge Blog, or from my sidebar.

Last Krafty Peek and Challenge 65!

Well, who can believe it's Saturday again?!! Mind you, it's been a full week. I was up staying with my DD, Kraftin' Kimmie from last Friday to this Wednesday and we were busy working with all the yummy new stamps. We also spent some time making cards and colouring images, which was lots of fun.

Today and tomorrow we get to post whichever of the new images we like, so I plumped for Rainy Day Miles, isn't he cute? He looks to me like his 'wellie' should go flying off his foot at any time, his little legs are so skinny. Ain't nuthin' worse than a loose 'wellie'.

Okay, so our hostess this week is the wonderful Donna, our gal over in Australia. Donna has given us a list or a 'recipe' to follow. She would like us to use 3 main colours, 2 patterned papers, 1 button and one ribbon on our cards. I had to think about that one, but actually it was pretty easy. As I said, I used Rainy Day Miles, who was so easy to colour and would be the perfect size for an A2 card. I like to make the bigger cards so I can get more 'stuff' on them, although this one is quite simple. I cut Miles out using one of my Labels 5 Nesties. Then quite by chance, when I was looking for a scrap of Bashful Blue, I found a rectangular piece I had cut out and not used. I liked the way it looked behind the main image, so I used it. My patterned papers are Delicate Dots from Stampin' Up, but they are long retired. I used some Bashful Blue GG ribbon across the strip at the bottom, cut out the sentiment with one of my Labels Trio, using some of the yellow DP, then I added the required button with some white twine threaded through.

So now it's your turn to take on the challenge. You have all week to make your cards and link them up on Kimmie's Challenge Blog. One lucky person will win the stamp Donna has used on her card, which is Joanie and boy, is she sassy?!!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Krafty Blog Hop as you will get one chance to win some brand new rubber from Kimmie for every comment you leave on our blogs! Of course Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps will be releasing their February Stamps, so they will all be available here.

See you then,
Blessings,
Diana

Wow, it's Day 3 of Krafty Peeks. It's Annie Rodrigue day today!!

Okay, here we are again with some more Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Peeks for you. Today we are showing some cards using images drawn by the amazingly talented Annie Rodrigue. Her line of stamps are called 'Moonlight Whispers'. Her images are so different from anything else I've ever seen and I love them. I am using Judy on my card and as you can see, perhaps more so with some of the other images, we are going with a 50s theme this time. I just love them all. Be sure to go and visit the blogs of the other Krafty Girls and see what amazing cards they have been creating for you to see.

I used a card base of Old Olive and the image layer is matted onto some Bashful Blue. I used some of my gorgeous KaiserCraft 'Tea at Elsie's 6 x 6 pad. I love the colours in this. The sentiment comes with Fanny, one of the other images you will probably see on one of the other girls' blogs. I used my new M.S. border punch, which I've already forgotten the name of. Actually I saw this punch used on Mary J's blog and immediately wanted it. I'd never seen it before and then, a few days ago I was at Michael's and found it there. Thanks Mary!!

Well, tomorrow it's time for the next Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge. Unfortunately, I left my camera behind at my DD Kraftin' Kimmie's house. She lives an hour and a half away from us, so unless I come up with a solution, I won't be able to post it! I'm really annoyed with myself. If I can think of someone I know who can take a pic for me and email it to me, I'll be all set, but so far I'm coming up blank.

Anyway, only another day to go, then it's February Release Day, so be sure and come back. We will be having another fabby Krafty Blog Hop and if you leave comments at any or all of the blogs, you will have lots of chances to win some of this awesome new rubbah!!

Till then,
Blessings, Diana

Time for another Krafty Peek! Catching Butterflies!!

Okay, so today is the second day of Kraftin' Kimmies Krafty Peeks and all the Krafty Girls are featuring Steven Leary's stamps. I just LOVE playing with his stamps, there is always a little humour in his images and that's what makes them so special. As you can see, today Miles is 'Catching Butterflies'. Isn't he adorable? These images are so much fun to colour and if you want to make a simple card, they are a great size for making an A2 card. I wanted to make a 6 x6 today as I was using my cute butterfly paper from Making Memories, this pad is called Flower Patch. Anyway, I wanted the card front to be big enough to show a lot of the butterflies. My card stocks are Barely Banana and Wild Wasabi. I added some green pearls, some of Kimmie's yummy ribbon, (I've been staying with her again for a few days, first for her Krafty 40th. Birthday Party, then to make cards and to help out with her stamps. Boy, is that girl busy?!!) then I stamped 'The Joys of Spring' from Kraftin' Kimmies Fairy Sentiments.

Tomorrow we will showing you some peeks at cards made with the images created by the amazing Annie Rodrigue. Just wait till you see them. Meanwhile, be sure to check out the blogs of all the other talented Krafty Girls. You will find all the links to their blogs on my sidebar. Then please come back tomorrow to have a peek at Annie's stuff.

Till tomorrow then,

Blessings,
Diana

Let the Peeks.....BEGIN!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has become known for their sweet, whimsical images that are so much fun to colour with markers, pencils and watercolours! But this month we are launching a new line of stamps that are headed in a different direction!

Today Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is debuting a new line of stamps that will appeal to both scrappers and stampers alike! The sets are called 'Krafty Quotes'!! Each month we'll be releasing a new set and each set will have four quotes which are larger in size than your average word stamps. These gorgeous sentiments are perfect to accent your scrapbook pages, your main card images or to become the focal point of your design!

This month, Krafty Quotes #1 features quotes from Audrey Hepburn, Louisa May Alcott, Lucille Ball and Mother Teresa!!

My card features the quote from Mother Teresa. I used a simple layout, the card base is vanilla, which I stamped with a swirly image in Chocolate Chip. The image layer, also vanilla is cut out with my Labels Nesties. I framed the image layer with a larger Nesties die in Chocolate Chip. Then I added some little roses and glued some punched leaves behind them. Quite simple!

Well, that was the first Krafty Peek from me, be sure to come back tomorrow for a second peek. Also, don't forget to check out the blogs of all the other Krafty Girls and see their amazing creations.

Till tomorrow then,
Blessings,
Diana
